Hakim Ziyech breaks down in tears as he bids farewell to Ajax for Chelsea transfer

Hakim Ziyech was overcome with emotional as he watched highlights of his Ajax career.

Soon-to-be Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech broke down in tears during an emotional celebration of his Ajax career, ahead of his summer move to the Premier League.

Ziyech, who contributed to 130 goals in 165 games during four years with Ajax, will join the Blues this in July after agreeing a £37.4m move in February.

The winger played a big part in Ajax's run to the Champions League semi-finals last season

Asked if he had ever imagined he would leave Ajax in such fashion, Ziyech said: "No. Not what I had imagined, no.

"I am happy to take the next step, but you don’t want to end it like this. It feels as if you didn’t pass the exams, that’s how it feels.

"You’re powerless. It doesn’t feel like the season ended successfully."

Former Blue and ex-Ajax team-mate Bertrand Traore was among those to send a message to the Morocco international, as was his captain Daley Blind

"I enjoyed sharing the pitch with you, I enjoyed your brilliance," he said. "I’ll keep enjoying you and following you at Chelsea. Good luck, we will meet again."

Responding to the messages of warmth which highlight the esteem he is held in, Ziyech said: "Beautiful, beautiful.

"These guys have been so important in my career before Ajax and with Ajax. They supported me in the hard times and always had my back.
